Afsarieh Interchange
Project Outline
The construction of Afsarieh interchange which was originally scheduled for completion in 30 months, due to some unforeseen combination of circumstances, was later compressed into 12 months. To get the work done on time and within budget, Kayson immediately put into effect emergency schedule and cost control measures and appointed a highly qualified management team to supervise and coordinate the provision of labor, plant and equipment, quality assurance and quality control, health and safety, and materials control.
Upon completion of the Afsarieh Project, the Environmental Engineering and Architecture Forum of Iran awarded Kayson a First Prize Certificate for the Best Construction Work of the Year.

- A cloverleaf interchange with nine ramps and four loops designed to route turning traffic in all possible directions and prevent streams of traffic crossing one another.
- Two secondary bridges, one extending across two of the interchange ramps, with a height clearance of six meters; the other, with a height clearance of 5.7 meters, and two reinforced concrete abutments, steel beams and reinforced concrete slabs which act as a composite.
